Fratelli Perata Winery
Wine Club
Way back in 1987, the brothers Perata began a winery. It was based on two principles: grow great grapes; and barrel big wines. They started very small, using only the fruit from their own vines planted in 1980. Their friends liked the wine. Their friends' friends liked the wine. The brothers added a few new barrels every year. The winery grew, their circle of friends grew. It was great.

Then, a small cloud. Sometimes, even with 2,000 cases made each year, there were some wines produced that were gone like a rainbow before our friends had a chance to see them. Ah, to make widgets, to crank out more and more! But no, not their way. Make what the vineyard gives you. Cherish your friends, enjoy your wines. See what the next vintage holds.

We have been fortunate that our style of winemaking has been supported by our friends: low tonnage vines, extensive use of oak, long barrel and bottle aging, superior cork. All adds up to intense wines although an expensive way to produce them. Our good luck has been that our friends permit us to do this without an advertising budget.

And, therefore, we are delighted to offer to our good friends, our Buon' Amici, a wine club. One that will:

  •   Ship new releases first to our Buon' Amici
  •   Give a 25% discount from retail 
  •   Ship red wines only. Receive 6 bottles twice a year (spring and fall)
  •   Wine club shipments retail value will be approximate $225 per shipment; you will be charged approximately $136 plus tax and shippment charges.
  •   Send tasting notes with food pairing suggestions
  •   Notify you of our annual winemakers' dinner
  •   Invite you to a Buon' Amici only tasting
We currently produce ten different wines; the number varies when the vintage gives us a special lot like the 1992 Giuseppe. An experiment in the vineyard has yielded spectacular results in the winery, again giving us the first, few special bottles, now available only to the wine club. We may base future wine styles on this initial experiment if we like the results. Otherwise, it is either blended into the wider range of barrels or cast out completely. The Buon' Amici always get the best. And they get it first.

We invite you to join us. Receive 6 bottles twice a year, charged to the MC/VISA.  The retail value will be approximately $225. However, as a Buon' Amici member, you will be charged 25% less than the full retail value, $136, plus sales tax and shipping charges.

Note: You must be over 21 years of age to order. An adult signature is required to receive wine. Please use a business address if possible. Due to legal issues in various states regarding direct shipping, we only ship (UPS) to the following "reciprocal states" of : California, Colorado, Idaho, Iowa, Illinois, Missouri, Nebraska, New Mexico, Oregon, Washington, and Wisconsin.
